Casa Chiara ,  Introdacqua  Abruzzo

About the property

Introdacqua translates loosely to "where the water comes in" and its location between two waterways already tells you something about this tiny town tucked away in a canyon near Sulmona.   The ancient centre is dominated by the profile of a stone fortress wall in which a recently restored square shaped tower was part of the medieval castle.  In the highest part of Introdacqua is a wall showing proof of the presence of the italic people.

Within the village the church of SS. Annuziata houses a church bell of roman origin and buildings of the 500's to 700's era are worthy of exploration.  The canyon itself is green and lush home to the flora and fauna of Abruzzi as well as many lovely walking trails.  While Introdacqua is a quiet paradise the city of Sulmona is only minutes away and offers many social activities and market adventures.

Enter from the ground level and the kitchen is up on "piano uno" (second floor in the USA) and bedrooms are up in the airy loft.  This lovely two bedroom home was renovated from a complete ruin (see photos).  The upper deck allows for a 360 degree panorama of the area up at the tree line.  Perfect for morning espresso and dining al fresco.

One bedroom has a "matrimonio" bed (US Queen size) and the other bedroom has two twin beds.  There is no photos of the second bedroom as the custom made beds are being delivered in August 2014.
